Joseph M. Giacomelli Sr., age 88, of Vineland, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in Inspira Medical Center, Elmer. Joseph was born in Vineland to the late Neal and Mary (Scarpa) Giacomelli and was a lifelong Vineland resident. Joseph was a U.S. Army veteran and served during WWII. Prior to retirement, he was a mechanic for Kimble Glass Co. of Vineland for over 40 years. Joseph was an usher and member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Francis Church. He loved to paint, play the piano and play chess. He was predeceased by his wife Hazel Giacomelli in 2003. 2 brothers; Eugene Giacomelli and Dominick Giacomelli, and by 2 sisters; Cesirine Muzzarelli and Barbara Petrone. Joseph is survived by his loving children, 3 sons; Joseph M. Giacomelli Jr. and wife Barbara, Michael J. Giacomelli and wife Ramona and Vincent J. Giacomelli and wife Jackie, all of Vineland. 3 daughters; Barbara V. Curley and husband Michael of Vineland, Maria A. Boyle and husband Michael of DeQuincy, LA., and Toni L. Fritz and husband Jeffrey of Bayville, NJ. Joseph is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17th at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Francis Church, 23 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. The viewing will be on Sunday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 pm and again on Monday from 9:00 - 10:15 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland.
