IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph A.
Peña
November 23, 1962 – November 5, 2025
Joseph Anthony Peña
April 3, 1962 – November 5, 2025
Joseph "Joey" Anthony Peña, 63, of Elmer, New Jersey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 5, 2025.
Born in New York, Joey spent most of his life in Elmer, where he was known for his sense of humor, big heart, and unmistakable laugh. He was the son of the late George Peña Sr. and Antonia Peña, and brother to the late Louis Peña. He is survived by his brother, George Peña, and Sister-in-Law, Yolanda Peña; stepson, Theodore Doberenz; stepdaughter, Ellen Burt; niece, Natalie Lopez; and nephews, Nathaniel Peña and Gabriel Peña.
Joey earned two associate degrees and worked in the boating industry for many years. He was a hard worker who took pride in what he did. He was an avid sports fan and a devoted supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles.
In his later years, Joey experienced a remarkable transformation deepening his faith, attending church faithfully alongside his brother, and finding joy in the simple blessings of life. He loved his family deeply and shared a special bond with his sister-in-law, whom he loved like the sister he never had.
Joey was also known for his generous heart. He gave faithfully to various charities and supported his home church, Spanish Assemblies of God in Vineland, NJ, where he was an active and joyful member.
Those who knew him will never forget his boisterous laugh, his love for good food, and his warm, lighthearted presence. Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing he is now reunited with his parents, his brother Louie, and his Savior in heaven free from pain and suffering.
"Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times and in every way." – 2 Thessalonians 3:16
