Jovita Rosa-Mendez, age 97 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland. Jovita was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and has been a resident of Vineland for over 45 years. She was a homemaker who loved her grandchildren and enjoyed cooking. Jovita was the beautiful, joyful loving matriarch who always welcomed everyone into her home with coffee and nourishment for the soul. She was predeceased by her husband, Benito Rosa and by her children; Femio Rosa, Estefania Rosa, Marcial Rosa, Epifania Jimenez, Anna Torres and Robert Rosa. Jovita is survived by her 6 sons; Felipe Rosa of Passiac, NJ, Antonio Rosa of Newark, NJ, Ruben Rosa of Puerto Rico, Octavio Rosa, Fernando Rosa and Jose Alfredo Rosa, all of Vineland. Her 5 daughters; Maria Rosa of Puerto Rico, Valeriana Rodriguez, Brunilda Maestre, Blanca Rivera and Margarita Rosa, all of Vineland. Along with a magnitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, Jovita raised 2 of her granddaughters, Olga Rosa and Maribel Velez of Vineland. Jovita was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Margarita Rosa and by her great-grandchildren, Cassandra Maldonado, Debbie Zavala and Miguel Torres. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, Feb. 7th at the Vineland Spanish Assembly of God Church, 512 S. 3rd St. Vineland, with Pastor Alberto Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. The viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00 pm at the Church and again on Friday from 9:00-10:00 am at the Church.
