Juan Carides Sr., of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Juan was born in Isabela, Puerto Rico to the late Dionisio and Belen (Feliciano) Carides and was a resident of Vineland for the past 20 years. Prior to his retirement, Juan worked as a chef for Howard Johnsons and Resorts International casino in Atlantic City. He was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church of Vineland. Juan enjoyed reading the Bible and sharing time with his family.

He was predeceased by his 3 children; Alicia Mercado, Daniel Carides and Dayse Chavez.

Juan is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Gladys B. Carides of Vineland. His 10 cherished children; Miriam and husband Ivan Sr., Adneira, Juan Jr. and wife Nancy, Doris and husband Wilson, Steven and wife Maria, Debbie and husband Norberto, David, Miguel, Clarissa and husband Greg and Marisol. Juan will also be loved and remembered by his 35 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with his brother Octavio Carides Sr. and wife Iris of Puerto Rico.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 26th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Pastor Carlos Torres officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 9:30 – 11:00 am on Tuesday, prior to the service.
At the request of the family, please do not wear any black clothing.
