Obituary

Juanita (Juana) Ramos, dearest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born to the late Maximo Torres-Cintron and Dominga Ocasio-Ramos on April 16, 1937, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. In December, 1957, Juanita married the late Arturo Ramos and moved to Vineland, NJ. She shared 46 loving years of marriage with Arturo and together they were blessed with five loving children. During her remarkable years on this earth, Juanita served the Lord in many ways, was a devout member of the Spanish Catholic Church in Vineland, and later transitioned to Divine Mercy Parish. She was a devoted wife and mother who was beloved by all in her community. Juanita was kind, caring, generous and selfless and welcomed everyone into her home. Cooking was her passion along with being a gracious host. Her hobbies included watching the Phillies, game shows and tending to her garden. Most of all, her presence made everyone feel welcomed and her smile lit up any room.

Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world and her greatest joy. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Juanita was affectionately known as "Guany" and "Mama Nita".  Juanita was a hard worker and was employed by various clothing factories during her younger years and later retired as a dietary aide from Bishop McCarthy Residence. After she retired, Juanita continued her community service as a member of the Catholic Church and remained a devoted mother, always taking care of her family.

Juanita is survived by her loving children; Lucy Smith (Gary), Arturo Ramos (Iris), Raymond Ramos, Margaret Trongone (Dan), and Edwin Ramos. Her cherished grandchildren; Seli (Mitchell), Gary, Christina, Tiffany (Jonas), Justin, Angie, Joseph, Justine (Charlie), Jalen and Juliana and her beloved great-grandchildren; Jenay, Mia, Dorian, Nora and Sylvie. She is also survived by her loving sisters; Aracelis, Virtudes (Juan) and brother, Vidal and her loving nieces and nephews.
