Julio Morales, age 83 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland.

Julio was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico to the late Victor Morales and Justina Alvarado and moved to New York City at the age of 18.  While in N.Y.C., he worked at Ferraro Candy factory and would often bring home chocolate to his family.  In 1978, Julio and his family moved to Vineland and he became one of the founding members of the First Hispanic Christian Church in Bridgeton.  Prior to his retirement, Julio worked in cranberry packaging and also as a janitor at the Bridgeton Christian School.

Julio enjoyed gardening, singing and playing the guitar, he loved animals and would always be there for anyone in times of need.  Above all, Julio's passion was in his faith and sharing time with and caring for his family, especially his grandchildren.

Julio was predeceased by his wife, Nicolasa Colon in 1989.

Julio is survived by his loving and devoted daughters; Madelyn and her husband Binui Rodriguez of Vineland and Blanca and her husband Marcil Medina of Roselle, NJ.  4 grandchildren; Julio A. Carrasquillo and Linette Carrasquillo both of Vineland and Jacqueline Medina and Jesus Medina and his great-grandson Jose Gonzalez all of Roselle, NJ.  He is also survived by 2 sisters; Rosa Vargas and Felicita Morales and his brother Victor Morales, all of Vineland.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 15 th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Rev. Benny Gonzalez officiating.  Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery, Bridgeton.  Family and friends may gather on Friday from 9:00 – 11:00 am at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity that was dear to Julio's heart, the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
