Karen Gelsi, age 63 of Millville, passed away on Tuesday June 26, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a brief illness. Karen was born in Vineland to the late Aldo and Phyllis (Darminio) Gelsi and was a resident of Vineland most of her life before moving to Millville. She graduated from Vineland High School, Class of 1966 and later earned a nursing degree from Cumberland County College. Prior to retirement, she was a Registered Nurse for the Vineland Developmental Center for 32 years as the Assistant Unit Director. Karen enjoyed fishing, painting, bowling, golf, playing cards and sharing time with her family and friends. Karen was predeceased by her brother, Aldo J. Gelsi Jr. in 1997. Karen is survived by her loving sister, Diane Gelsi of Milmay, her niece Nicole Gelsi Woolley and husband Charles of Landisville, and her nephew Ajay Gelsi Hobbs of Tucson, Arizona. Also by her Aunt Margaret "Dolly" Farabella of Milmay, 2 great nieces; Cynthia and Kristin Woolley and her great nephew Charles Woolley all of Landisville. Her best friend, Anita "Kaye" Vanaman of Millville and several cousins, all who will miss her dearly. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday June 30th at Christ the Good Sheppard Parish, Church of Sacred Heart, 1010 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will be private. The viewing will be on Saturday from 9:30-10:30am at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland.
