Lelia L. Ruiz, age 85 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 11, 2022 in Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland.

Lelia was born on May 2, 1936 in Chase City, Virginia to the late Clifton and Mary (Hayes) Tisdale and she lived in Vineland since 1993. She attended school in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.

Prior to retirement, she was a steel worker for Wyckoff Steel Mill in Chicago for twelve years. Lelia was a former member of Saint James Baptist Church.

She enjoyed being around people, shopping and she had an amazing sense of humor.

Lelia was predeceased by her husband Juan A. Ruiz, two sisters, Annette O. Ocasio and Cynthia E. Rosario and three nieces.

She leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Clifton L. Tisdale of Chase City, Va., her two sisters, Veda T. Branch of Chase City, Va., and Betty T. Barnes of South Hill, Va. Also one brother-in-law, Willie N. Barnes of Chase City, Va. and one sister-in-law, Isabel Salva of Pennsauken, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 3:00 PM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will be private. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday.
