Obituary

Lillian Martinez-Cordero,  – age 59, formerly of Vineland, NJ went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the Bronx, NY.

Lillian was born in Vineland to John J. Martinez and the late Ana M. (Custodio) Martinez. She is survived by her loving husband Francisco Cordero of Bronx, NY and her two children Daniella and Angel. Also two brothers John and David (Debbie) and two sisters Doris (Dino) and Marivel Martinez, and also a host of nephews, nieces and a great-niece.

Lillian was a 1975 graduate of Vineland Senior High School. In 1979, she received her BA in Psychology from Montclair State College. She was in the Iota Gamma Xi Sorority and in 1992 she received her MA in Social Work from Fordham University. She worked for the Department of Family Services as a Supervisor in NY. Lillian also performed volunteer work with the American Red Cross. Lastly, she worked at Lifeway Network dealing with women previously involved in sex trafficking. Lillian was extremely passionate about helping people in need.


The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, March 1st 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Divine Mercy Church, 23 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 29th from 7:00-9:00 PM at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, and again on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 AM at the CHRUCH.
