Louis (Lou) Coslop of Vineland, NJ passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the age of 88. He was born on April 29, 1930 to the late Benjamin and Josephine (Sterchele) Coslop in Vineland where he lived most of his life.
Lou was a master carpenter and was self-employed for many years before finishing his career at Elwyn Institute. He was in the Army National Guard and retired as a Major after serving over 20 years. He enjoyed playing cards on his computer, dinner at his favorite restaurant, and visits (to "Poppy Lou") from his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Lou was predeceased by his wife Catherine Scholz Coslop, daughter Debra McAllister, son Terry Coslop, grandson Sean Harker, and siblings Benjamin Coslop, Mary DeGroot, Anna Donzola, Violet Chipolla, Gloria Coslop and Richard Coslop.
He is survived by his children, Phyllis (Todd) Payne of Chester Springs, PA, Barbara (Bruce) Lepore of Upper Deerfield, NJ, Eric (Sandy) Coslop of Upper Deerfield, NJ, son-in-law Robert McAllister, daughter-in-law Valerie Coslop, 10 grandchildren, Charlotte (Tim) Hunter, Andrea Coslop, Matthew Coslop, Megan (Dan) Coslop, Jason (Rosi) Heck, Claire Coslop, Jesse Baruffi, Allison Dare, Melanie Coslop, and Lindsey (Justin) Coslop, 14 great-grandchildren, his sister Jean Venturi, his former wife Eve Coslop, his very special friend Rita, in-laws Randy & Susan Wilhelm and John & Dorothy Wilhelm, and step-children Betsy Paugh, Paul Scholz, Mary Austin, Frank Scholz and Ellen Stevens.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Avenue, Vineland at 5 p.m. followed by commemoration at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Louis may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
