Louis entered the Kingdom of Heaven just shy of his 80th birthday. Born to Louis and Philomena "Mayme" nee Cifaloglio of Forest Grove. Louis is a graduate of Clayton High School.
Louis served in active duty in the United States Navy from November 1959 to February 1962. He served in Fighter Squadron 51 NAS and was deployed on the USS Ticonderoga.
After his service to our country, Louis owned a gas station and deli in Franklin Township, worked at the Shelburne Hotel in Atlantic City, drove a tractor and trailer, and was a Salem County Special Sheriff's Officer.
Louis became an iron worker on the construction of the Salem Unit II nuclear power plant. Then he became a bar owner purchasing Crescitelli's Tavern in Vineland and for a brief time co-owning Crescitelli's Double-C Saloon in Malaga. Before retiring, Louis went back to truck driving as well as driving a bus for the Vineland Training School.
Louis enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, as well as playing cards and going to the casinos and watching the Eagles and Phillies. He was also a member of the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company, Salem County Fire Police, the American Legion Post 270 in Minotola, the National Rifle Association, the Landisville Social Club, and the Diamond Social Club. Louis was also involved in the Republican Party in the Pittsgrove-Vineland areas serving as a poll worker and assisting with Get Out the Vote.
Louis is pre-deceased by his two brothers, Peter "Sonny" and Henry.
Louis is survived by his former wife Linda nee Styles; his two adult children - his son Louis III and his wife Kristie and his daughter Rebecca Souraj and her husband Jason; his two grandchildren Supriya and Anthony Souraj; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Visitation is on Saturday, February 6th from 10:30-11:30 at St. Padre Pio Church, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland; the Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:30. Interment will be private.
