Lucienne (Biscottini) Baruffi, age 86 of Vineland, passed away on Thursday morning, February 12, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at Cooper Hospital. Lucienne was born in 1929 in Nice, France to the late Lidia Biscottini and Constantino Scappino. She moved to Vineland, New Jersey at the age of 19. Lucienne was the first woman general contractor in New Jersey and built several homes in the East Vineland area. She was also well known for her excellent cooking skills that she passed on to her daughters and granddaughters. When she spoke Italian it was peppered with a French accent. Even though she was Italian she and her late husband insisted that her children be fluent in Italian and French. Lucienne was predeceased by her husband John B. Baruffi. Lucienne is survived by her son, Robert J. Baruffi and wife Alica and two daughters, Lydia Calareso and husband Ron, and Barbara Bovenzi and husband Giovanni. She is also survived by three granddaughters- Lucienne "Gigi" Prato and husband Joe, and Yvette Dancel Gonzalez and husband Santi and Maria Luciana Baruffi and one grandson- Philip Baruffi. Six great-grandchildren; Gabriella Horvath, Gianna Horvath, Danine Gonzalez, Giovanni Gonzalez, Kayla Prato and Bella Prato. Lucienne will be sadly missed by her family and friends. A private memorial service was held at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, Vineland.
