Luis Fernando Acosta Sr. age 76 of Vineland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at home. Luis was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Eladio and Cristina (Vera) Acosta and was a resident of Vineland for most of his life. He worked as a clothing presser for Jordan Clothing Co. for over 14 years. Luis enjoyed music, playing the harmonica, dominoes and cuatro. Luis loved all his grandchildren and sharing time with his family. His favorite saying was "Lo mas; bello de papa" Luis is survived by his 3 sons; Luis F. Acosta Jr. and wife Felicia of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Orlando Acosta and wife Aida of Watsontown, PA and John Acosta and wife Gladys of Vineland, NJ. By his 2 daughters; Yolanda (Acosta) Valentin and husband Dennis of Vineland and Hilda "Betty" Acosta of Clermont, Fl., 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his 2 sisters, Hilda Echevarria and Lucy DeLaRosa and husband Gilberto, all of Vineland. Luis was predeceased by his brother, Jose Acosta and by his sister, Cristina "Gloria" Acosta. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 30th at 10:00 am with Rev. Raul Rivero officiating, at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. The viewing will be on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Monday from 9:00-10:00 am at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the family.
