Luz Mayra Lugo, age 60, passed away on June 10, 2020 at Inspira Hospital in Vineland NJ due to heart and kidney failure

Luz was born November 27, 1960 in Utuado Puerto Rico to the late Sixto Carreras and Claudia Chevere. She is survied by her loving husband of 45 years in marriage, Julio C. Lugo Sr. Her daughters; Mayra (moya) Roman, Maria Lugo, Marilyn Lugo Acevedo and by her son Julio C. Lugo Jr. (chu-cho). Her grandchildren Elvin, Lenitza and Rosalyn Roman, Yozelyn Soto, Amaya Santiago, Luis A. Acevedo Jr and Xia Liz Hinojosa. One great grandchild Anthony Antunez. She has three sisters and one brother; Maribel Ramos and Blanca, Gladys and Juan Carlos Carreras and by many loving nieces and nephews.

Luz was predeceased by her sisters; Iris, Clarita, Irma, and by her brothers Edwin, Moises and Tite Carreras.

Luz worked for Tyson Foods (Vineland) for many years as a Quality Control employee. One of her passions was spending time with her family. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, watching novelas and spending time in the casinos. Mayra was a loving, caring humble human being. She is known to her family and friends as a person who would do absolutely anything for anyone even a stranger. She would always tell her kids " Un HI no se le nega a nadie", y menos un plato de comida" "Which translates to you never ignore someone when they say hi and you also never deny anyone a plate of food".

Funeral services will be at held Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home,  1024 E Landis Ave Vineland NJ, on Wednesday June 17, 2020 from 4-6 P.M. family and friends are welcomed.
