María Felicita
Acosta Cuadrado De Mendoza
November 7, 1931 – August 3, 2021
María Felicita Acosta Cuadrado de Mendoza, age 89, peacefully went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2021 at the home of her daughter Maria Mendoza-Perkins in Vineland, NJ.
She was born on November 7, 1931 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to Eladio Acosta Agosto and Rosa Estefania Cuadrado Perez. She attended grade school up to the 7th grade, then attended and graduated from Alpha & Omega Bible Institute and received her 3-year theology degree in 1972.
On July 14, 1947, she married the love of her life, Felix Mendoza Boria. They lived happily together for 68 years and created a beautiful family that began with 8 children and led to 19 grandchildren and 22 great-children. Maria also served in pastoring the Pentecostal Church, Fountain of Life, in Vineland, NJ for 22 years, serving alongside her husband, Rev. Felix Mendoza.
She is predeceased by her husband and children: Felix Mendoza, Maria Judith Mendoza, Rosa Maria Mendoza-Ortiz, and Elias Mendoza; and grandchildren: Roberto Daniel Gonzalez, Gabrielle Loatman and Marcelino Ojeda III "Tre".
She is survived by her children: Jaime R. & Gladys Mendoza, Mildred Mendoza Palow, Gladys Cardona Mendoza, Israel & Evelyn Mendoza, Deborah & Rev. Roberto Gonzalez, Rebecca and Brian Loatman, Maria & Milton Mendoza-Perkins and Alexander Mendoza; her grandchildren: Eugene and Jennifer Palow, Rebecca and Ruben Salido, Israel and Linsey Palow, Stephanie and Marcos Ramos, Timothy and April Palow, Christina and Niels Hoogkamer, Deborahlynn Gonzalez, Jonathan and Ginger Mendoza, Jennifer Mendoza, Phillip J. and Tatiana Mendoza, Melissa Mendoza, Jessica and Josue Montañez, Anthony Mendoza, Jeanette and Angel Aponte, Jillian Loatman; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Maria will be especially remembered by her family, Christian community and friends, for the legacy she created as a nurturer, counselor, teacher, encourager and masterful hugger. She loved to cook and help in any way she could. But most of all, she will be remembered for her love of worship through song, a talent she passed on to her entire family.
Services will be as follows: Visitation Walk-through from 7-9 pm on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the Chestnut Assembly of God, 2554 E. Chestnut Ave, Vineland, NJ; Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 9:00-10:00 am (visitation) and 10-11am (service), followed by an internment at Siloam Cemetery.
