Maria Josefa Torres Ponce, age 99, of Vineland, NJ, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

She was born on May 8, 1923 in Lares, Puerto Rico. She was a homemaker and dedicated her whole life to her children and family. She will be greatly missed.

Josefa is survived by her sister, Angela Valentin. Her beloved children; Loida Lagares, Aida Cordero (Andrés), Carmen Gonzalez (Angel), Luz Cordero, Ramona Cordero, Rosita Cordero (Luis), Efrain Baez (Amelia), José (Pipo) Cordero and Hector Cordero. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Josefa was predeceased by her husband, Hilario Cordero, her parents Juan Torres and Paula Ponce Pitre, her sister Lucia Torres, brothers; Juan, Quintin and Nicholas Torres, her son José Eladio Cordero and by her sons-in-law, Hipolito Lagares Jr. and Ramon Gerena.

Funeral services and Burial will take place in Josefa's hometown of Lares, Puerto Rico
