Emelina Velez, age 87 of Vineland, passed away on Tuesday, April 24th 2018 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland, surrounded by her loving family.

Emelina was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to the late Martin and Eugenia (Ortiz) Gonzalez and she lived in Vineland most of her life.  Prior to retirement, Emelina was a seamstress for Crown Clothing for over twenty years. She was a member of the Vineland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church. Emelina enjoyed cooking, gardening and sharing time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Benito Velez in 2001.

Survivors include her two sons, Beny Velez and his wife Hilda of Vineland and William Velez of Nebraska. Also her loving daughter, Milta "Mimi" Velez-Longa and her husband Ossie of Silver Spring, MD. Additional survivors include 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, her sister, Daisy Collazo and husband Isidro of Vineland, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28th 2018 at 4:00 PM from the Vineland Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church 230 W. Chestnut Ave. Vineland with Pastor Oscar Rodriguez officiating. Graveside funeral services will follow on Sunday, April 29th 2018 at 10:00 AM from Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.  Family and friends may gather at the CHURCH on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 PM, prior to the service.
