Mariluz Gutierrez, age 46 of Somers Point, formerly of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 31, 2011 at home. Mariluz was born in New York City, NY to Luz Maria (Correa) Santos and her late husband Eladio. She was a resident of Vineland for most of her life before moving to Somers Point. Mariluz was formerly employed by the Showboat Casino prior to her illness. She enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Mariluz is survived by her mother, Luz Maria Santos of Orlando, Fl. and her son, Eddie Manuel Gutierrez of Vineland. 2 brothers; Carlos Santos (JoAnn) of Richmond, Va. And Eladio Santos Jr. of Lakeland, Fl. 2 sisters; Fela "Cookie" Tunon-Santos of Pompano Beach, Fl. and Noemi Chenault (Kelvin) of Stockbridge, Ga. Mariluz is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and especially her caregivers, Deserie Resto Santos, Janel Santos and her special nephew, Michael A. Carrion. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave., with Rev. Carlos Torres officiating.
