Maritza Rodríguez was born on December 18, 1944, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2026 in Vineland, New Jersey, at the age of 81, just over two months shy of her 82nd birthday. For approximately 68 years, Maritza called Vineland home. It was there that she built her life, raised her family, and shared many joyful years with the people she loved most. On December 26, 1965 she married Andrés Rodríguez, and together they shared nearly 61 years of marriage. 

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Andrés; her sons, Andrés Rodríguez and Luís Orlando Rodríguez, her three grandchildren, Isabella Grace, Laryn Alexis, and Luka Joseph Rodríguez and her beloved niece, Rosa Rosado. To those who loved her most, she was simply Mari, the heart of our home. Her love was steady and generous, and it shaped every one of us. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the years we were given with her, and we will cherish and carry her memory with us always.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 at 1:30 PM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Rev. Angel Batista officiating. Burial will follow in the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell, New Jersey. Family and friends may gather on Friday from 12:30-1:30PM at the funeral home, prior to Mari's service.
