Marivel (Martinez) Mikus, 56 of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Marivel (Mari) was born in Vineland, NJ on February 18, 1965. She dedicated her career to the Vineland Board of Education. Mari held precious her church and earned a certificate in Catechesis Level 3 Instituto de Ministerio Eclesial de Camden. Mari was also a Notary Public. She had a heart of gold, and if any family or friend needed help, she was there to do what she could to help out. She enjoyed flea markets, sewing and collecting Angel figurines. Above all, Mari was happiest when spending time with her family.

Mari was a devoted daughter to John J. and the late Anna (Custodio) Martinez. She was predeceased by her husband David B. Mikus, Sr. They were both Stephen Ministers at Divine Mercy Parish, Vineland, NJ. David and Mari enjoyed fishing and hunting together. Mari was also predeceased by her sister Lillian (Francisco) Cordero.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brothers John Martinez, David (Debbie) Martinez and her sister Doris Nanfara (Dino); Bonus Mother Carmen Rodriguez; nephews Christian Martinez, Eric Martinez, John J. Martinez, Angel Cordero, Matthew Martinez, Brandon (Carolina) Martinez and Michael Martinez; nieces, Lilliana Martinez, Daniella Cordero and Magdalena Martinez; great nieces Sophia Martinez and Anastasia Lillian Kuznecow; stepchildren David B. (Liz) Mikus, Jr., Christine Fish and Joe (Kimberly) Mikus; step-grandchildren Ty Mikus, Aaliyah Mikus, Trinity Mikus and Michael Fish; and her many loving cousins, friends and her cat Mijo.

Special appreciation to Dr. John Pirolli, DO and the Inspira Medical Center staff. They all have our entire family's genuine admiration and gratitude for their services.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 21st at 12:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery, Pittsgrove. Family and friends may gather on Friday from 10:00-12:00 pm at the funeral home.
