Mary E. (Gehm) Parson, age 85 of Pittsgrove passed away peacefully on July 5th surrounded by her loving family. If you were around in the 40's, Mary was the ticket girl at the old Landis Theater where she met her husband, Leon Parson, of 61 years. Mary went on to work at various theaters and various drug stores, as well as Vineland Syrup. She later retired to Florida for 18 years. She moved back to Vineland in 2001. Mary's hobbies included ceramics, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, puzzles, cards and playing piano. Mary enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Leon C. Parson, and her son, Leon "Lenny" Parson, and daughter-in-law, Josephine "Cookie" (Pizzo) Parson and also her nephew, Robert "Robbie" A. Tartaglio, Jr. Mary is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Parson) Girone and husband Phil "Figi" Girone of Pittsgrove and her son Dale R. Parson of Vineland. 5 grandchildren, Kristina Young and her husband Larry of Vineland, Andrea Nelson of Lakeland, Fla., Feliciano "Nick" Girone of Upper Deerfield, Candice Martinez of Vineland and Brian S. Parson of Vineland. Also 4 great-grandchildren, Johnnie, Grant, Brooke and Noel; one nephew, Randolph "Randy" Tartaglio of Chestnut Hill, Pa. and one sister, Roberta "Bobbi" Tartaglio-Dingle of Florida. Funeral liturgy will be held Thursday, July 11th at 11:00 AM from Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, Sacred Heart Church 1010 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. Visitation hours are Thursday 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the liturgy in the church.
