Mercedes Torres Feliciano-Martinez, age 89 of Vineland, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Innova Nursing Home, Hammonton. Mercedes was born in Lares, Puerto Rico to the late Anselmo Torres and Maria Feliciano and was a resident of Vineland since 1998. While in Puerto Rico, she worked in agriculture growing flowers in Mayaquez. Mercedes was a member of the Christian Churches Emmanuel of Vineland. She enjoyed embroidery and sharing time with her family and church. She was predeceased by her husband, Felipe Martinez and her son, Edwin Martinez. Mercedes leaves behind 9 children to cherish her memory. 5 daughters; Blanca Jimenez of Vineland, Tonita Laureano of Puerto Rico, Ana Rodriguez of Hammonton, Carmen Cruz of Vineland and Angelita Martinez of P.R. 4 sons; Felipe Martinez of Vineland, Carlos Martinez of Elwood, NJ, Tony Martinez of Egg Harbor City, NJ and Victor Martinez of P.R. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers and many nieces and nephews. We will love you always Mama, and never forget you. The funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 15 at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
