Miguelina "Mickey" Torres Monteiro, age 95 of Malaga passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in Summit Place Assisted Living in Glassboro. She was born on September 29, 1928 to Juan Bautista Torres and Anna Sanchez.

Mickey was a medical assistant to several doctors, and she worked for the Little Sisters of the Poor nursing home in Newark, NJ.  Mickey moved to the Malaga area in 1977 and worked at the Vineland Developmental Center in Vineland.  Mickey was devoted to her children Rich Iglesias, Edward Iglesias, John Monteiro (deceased), Frank (Poncho) Monteiro (deceased) and daughter Leonor Thomas.  She was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mickey's passion was her devotion to Christ and bringing the Gospel to others.  She was an advocate for the physically and mentally challenged.  Her generosity and love touched many lives.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 AM at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. NJ.  Interment will follow at Malaga Methodist Cemetery, Delsea Dr. Malaga, NJ.
