IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mollie
Rabinowitz
November 18, 1927 – December 18, 2015
Mollie Rabin (Rabinowitz), 88, of Rosenhayn in Deerfield Township passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2015, after a brief illness.
Mollie was born in Philadelphia PA, to the late David and Clara Toll, and lived in Rosenhayn 59 years. Mollie and her husband, Marvin, were self-employed in the fresh chicken and egg business as young adults. Later she worked at Bellco Glass in Vineland. Although she would say her greatest accomplishment was as a mother, Mollie was also an asset to her community. As a young woman she volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and served on the PTA, the Deerfield Township Recreation Commission, and the Rosenhayn Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, among others. She was also a ardent antiques collector who was active in the American Hatpin Society and the National Milk Glass Collectors Society. She assisted her daughter, Arlene, in her antiques business. In retirement, Mollie greatly enjoyed volunteering as a docent at the Museum of American Glass in Millville. A lifetime handcrafter, at Lehigh Commons Assisted Living in Macungie, PA, where she lived for the last 18 months, Mollie taught crocheting and other crafts to fellow residents, and crocheted bags and afghans for family members and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Arlene Rabin and husband John Whelden of Fogelsville, Pa.; two sons, Jack Rabin and wife Elizabeth of Titusville, and Barry Rabin and wife Jo Deurbrouck of Idaho Falls, Idaho; two grandsons, Dave and Aaron Rabin, both at home; and one sister, Ricki Iskow of Fremont, CA.
Community and family members are invited to arrive at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, December 20th 2015 from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave., Vineland. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma. Mollie will lay alongside her husband of 58 years, Marvin "Bud Rabin" Rabinowitz, who died in 2007.
Mollie was a passionate supporter of causes she believed in. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mollie's memory may be made to a cause you believe in, or to one of her favorites, the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, www.wheatonarts.org .
Arrangements are by the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, Vineland.
