Obituary

Patricia (Mastrangelo) Ensslen, 73, a longtime resident of Vineland, NJ, passed away on January 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Pat is best known for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, neighbor, friend, and inspirational teacher in our community.

Family meant everything to Pat. She is survived by her adoring husband of 51 years, F. Neil Ensslen, and her daughter, Catherine Ensslen, who was the light of her life. One of four very close sisters, Pat is also survived by her sisters Diane Cabano (Steve), Kathy Cyliax (Jeff) and Laura Liotta (Scott Simmers), five nieces and nephews, one great niece, her godmother Betty Testa, her caregiver Nino, and many cousins with whom she enjoyed reminiscing. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Rose Mastrangelo.

An educator for her entire career, Patricia worked tirelessly for her students in the Vineland Public School District, making a lasting impression as an elementary school teacher and technology coordinator at multiple schools. She inspired a love of learning and instilled confidence in every child whose life she touched. Her commitment to education was recognized in her selection as the recipient of multiple Teacher of the Year Awards and two NJ Governor's Awards in Education. After retiring, Pat served as a volunteer at the Vineland Public Library and the National Constitution Center, where she shared her love of history and inspired future generations.

Patricia is a graduate of Vineland High School (Class of 1970) and Glassboro State College, where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees, with a special focus on integrating computers and technology into the classroom.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Pat found joy in exploring historical sites, enjoying the beach, and loved traditional Italian Sunday dinners and holiday celebrations with family. Pat and Neil loved traveling, playing volleyball and cycling together, embracing every moment and adventure. She was surrounded by a close-knit, longtime group of girlfriends whose steadfast support lightened her toughest days. Her beautiful spirit, generous heart, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
