Paulette L. Woodman

Paulette Woodman, 78, peacefully passed away at home on September 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Paulette was the daughter of the late Doris (Corrigan) Drobenick and Louis Drobenick. At the age of 16, she was legally adopted by her late stepfather, James C. Anderson. She was one of six siblings: Roberta Anderson, Lynn Weisberg, and the late Carol Ursani, Delphine Finney, and Michael Anderson.

After graduating from high school, Paulette attended Hartford Airline School in Hartford, Connecticut. She later began working at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and went on to work as an airline ticket agent. Shortly thereafter, she married the love of her life, Robert C. Woodman Jr., on December 30, 1966. Together, they built a life and family and raised their two children, Meredith and Robert.

Paulette later pursued a career in nursing, graduating from the Cumberland County College nursing program in 1988. She devoted 32 years to caring for others as a registered nurse, working in local hospitals, an outpatient dialysis clinic, and South Woods State Prison. She was nationally certified in IV therapy and certified in dialysis. Toward the end of her career, Paulette became a travel nurse specializing in peritoneal dialysis, which took her to Oklahoma, Maryland, and West Virginia. She continued working until retiring at the age of 72.

Paulette had a love of travel and adventure. Over the years, she visited destinations throughout the United States as well as Puerto Rico, Canada, Bavaria, Germany, Austria, Aruba, and the Bahamas. She enjoyed taking tennis and piano lessons and even completed a Red Cross lifesaving course. She especially loved taking her grandchildren on shopping sprees, preparing family dinners, decorating for the holidays, and exploring fine dining restaurants.

Above all, Paulette treasured her family. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, kind heart, and the many ways she cared for the people around her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved nothing more than surprising them with gifts, attending plays, and watching movies. She was particularly fond of scary movies and anything to do with Elvis! She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Paulette is survived by her beloved husband, Robert C. Woodman Jr.; her children, Meredith Leigh Vicente and her husband, Michael Vicente, and Robert Brian Woodman; and her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Corinne and fiancée Hayden Horsey, Carly, Madison, and Maren.

A memorial service celebrating Paulette’s life will be held at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:30am.

Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon at Eastlyn Greenview Inn at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Paulette’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
