It is with deep sorrow and immense love that we announce Pilar Santiago, of Vineland New Jersey, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at the age of 65.

Pilar was born on March 2, 1956 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to the late Miguel A. Santiago and Catalina Quinones. In 1973, she moved to Hammonton, New Jersey with the love of her life, Jaime Catala. In 1989 they relocated to Vineland, New Jersey where they created endless memories together with family and friends.

Pilar was employed by the Vineland Board of Education for 18 years before her retirement. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Godmother and Friend to all. Pilar was truly a faithful servant of God. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and reading the bible. Above all, Pilar cherished her time shared with family and friends.

Pilar will be lovingly remembered by her beloved children; Jaime Eli Catala, Madelyn (Gabriel) Catala Garcia and Devin (Kalena) De Leon. Her adored grandchildren; Devin Catala, Kevin Catala, Jaime X. Cintron, Hector Maestre and Yami Ruiz Catala. And by her treasured siblings; Miriam (Gabriel) Santiago-Ortiz, Nancy Santiago, Sonia Santiago, Virginia (Gregorio) Santiago-Feliciano, Eliezer Santiago, Dimas (Mildred Tellado) Santiago, Lourdes Santiago, Awilda (Wilmer) Santiago Quinones, Maria Santiago, Jose M. Santiago, Angie (Carlos) Santiago-Carreras, Yolanda (Holven) Santiago Segarra, Wanda (Wilfred) Santiago Jimenez and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pilar was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years Jaime Catala, her parents Miguela A. Santiago and Catalina Quinones and by her brothers Gabriel and Wilson Santiago.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, with Pastor Noralys Calderon officiating. Family and friends may gather from 9:00 – 10:00 am. Pilar will be laid to rest in Yauco, Puerto Rico.
