Richard Francis Coombs, aged 91 of Vineland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022.

Richard was born in Boston, MA to Henry and Cecilia (O'Shea) Coombs. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired as a manager of engineering in 1985 for New Jersey Bell, and continued to work in the same field until 2007. He was a very devoted family man and the epitome of a renaissance man.

Richard was predeceased by his wife Shirley (Secrest) Coombs after 56 years of marriage, by his sons Stephen and Mitchell, and by his five brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind his son Matthew, his grandchildren, Justin, Emily and Alexander, and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 2nd at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Interment with military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may gather on Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:00 am, prior to the service at the funeral home.
