Richard Donn, a young thinking 82 year old man of Millville and formerly of Hackensack, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2015 at the Manor Care in Paulsboro, NJ. Born in the Bronx, New York to the late Albert W. and Ann (Masch) Donn, Richard was a resident of Millville for the past 5 years. He was a Lieutenant with the U.S. Air Force and served two terms during the 1950's. Richard earned two Master's Degrees in Hospital Administration and also in Pharmacology. Prior to retirement, he was the Executive Vice President of Hackensack Medical Center for over thirty years. During this time Richard developed such projects as the Child Cancer Center and Tomorrow's Children Fund. He acquired the first Imaging center in the state, along with a hospital based fitness center, to Hackensack Medical Center and also the Cardiac Surgery Unit. Richard was a remarkable man who contributed much to his family, the medical community and his surrounding communities. He was an extremely bright man who made friends easily, had a great sense of humor and was kind and generous to a fault. Richard was a wonderful and loving husband to Ann M. (Chianca) Donn, his wife of 30 years. A devoted father to his sons; Andy Donn and wife Jung-Ran of Wilmington, DE and David Donn and wife Sarah of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; Jacob Donn, JoAnna Donn and Oliver Donn, his sister Doris Lipman and husband Walter of Somers, NY and sister-in-law, JoAnn Chianca of Millville. The funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 9th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with Rabbi Yisroel Rapoport officiating. Burial will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma.
