Richard Michael Rose "Mike" of Vineland, died of natural causes at his home on Saturday, August 25, 2012. He is survived by his son Michael Rose of Vineland, his former wife Cathleen Errera of Vineland and two brothers and four sisters. Richard was the son of the late Richard and Mary Rose of Long Island, NY. He graduated from James Wilson Young High School in Bayport, NY. As a young man he worked as a bayman in Long Island. He later relocated to Vineland, NJ where he worked as a grower for over 25 years, helping to build and run the wholesale greenhouse business, Great Northern Plant Co. After becoming disabled, Richard sold plants at the local Flea Market and enjoyed sharing his expertise on plant care with his customers. Richard enjoyed fishing, painting, music and took great pleasure in helping those around him. Richard recently celebrated 21 years of sobriety as an A.A. member. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
