Obituary

Richard W. Teahan, age 76 of Southampton, NJ (formerly of Williamsport, Pa.) passed away on Monday, October 4th, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Atlantic City to the late Francis and Evelyn (Nightlinger) Teahan. Rich was raised in Williamsport, PA and spent most of his life in South Jersey.

Richard graduated from Loyalsock High School Class of 1964 where he enjoyed gymnastics, wrestling and varsity football. After high school he proudly served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home he continued his education at Rutgers University in New Jersey and also received  several certifications in his field of work. Upon his retirement from Stephen Starr Restaurants he continued his love of finance by becoming the treasurer of his retirement community, Leisuretown, in Southampton, NJ. He was also the coordinator for the Medford Senior Tennis. Richard enjoyed being with his family, playing guitar, playing pool and was an avid tennis player and a regular at the Cape May Tennis Club. He was especially proud of all of his family's accomplishments.

He was predeceased by one brother Thomas and his great-grandson, Cole.

He is lovingly survived and will be sadly missed by his wife of 24 years, Sylvia H. (Jones) Teahan of Southampton, NJ. His three daughters, Candice (Teahan) Bernhardt and her husband Kevin of Vineland, NJ, Daun (Teahan) Moir and partner Timothy Hoffman of Pittsgrove, NJ and Kelly (Teahan) Brown and husband Mark of Henrietta,TX.  Six grandchildren, Sarah (Bernhardt) Costantino and her husband Cavan, Rachel Bernhardt, Dawson Moir, Mason Moir, Kelsy Smith and Christopher Smith.  Two brothers Francis Teahan II and his wife Ramona and Timothy Teahan and his husband John. Also one great-granddaughter, Brynlee, a nephew and niece and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 4th, at 11:00 AM from the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home 1024 E. Landis ave. Vineland, NJ. Family and friends may gather 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Association in Richard's name.
