Ruth Yvonne Cooke, 71, of Millville, died May 10th. Born in Vineland, daughter of Louis Henry Baumbach and Laura Rae (Nutt) Baumbach. Predeceased by her husband Charles Thomas Cooke, brother George "Pete" Baumbach, and aunt Caroline "Connie" Nutt Greico. Survived by her loving daughter Amy Rae Cooke of West Deptford, sister Sandra (William "Scotty") Scott of Vineland, niece Jennifer Ruth Scott (Dwayne) of Aberdeen, MD, and her children Avery & Kyle Fletcher, and Gaege Ritter; niece Laura Lloyd of Vineland, and her children Carrie and Jerrod; her very dear cousins Karen Dragotta of Brevard, NC, Robert Dragotta of Bridgeton, and David Dragotta of Vineland; sisters-in-law Mary Walinsky and Virginia (Edward "Mickey", Jr.) Smith,and her children Dr. Edward "Mickey" III, Barry and Charlie Smith; and many other relatives. A long time Millville resident, Ruth was a member of the Millville High School class of 1959. She started her medical career as a licensed x-ray technologist, training at Millville Hospital. She interrupted her work to be a stay-at-home mom, later resuming her career at South Jersey Hospital System as an x-ray clerk. Ruth liked to garden and was knowledgeable about trees, flowers and birds. She was very close to her mother. She was very kind-hearted, rescuing many homeless cats over the years. Ruth enjoyed musicals and plays and attended many local performances. Family & Friends are invited to the viewing at 10am, and funeral at 11am, Tuesday, May 14th at Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland. Feel free to dress casually. Future interment will be at Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
