Ruth Franco, age 75 of Vineland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Philadelphia, PA.

Ruth was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico to the late Santiago Santos and Marcela DeLeon and has been a resident of Vineland since the late 1970's.  While settling in Vineland, she attended Cumberland County College and worked for the Vineland Board of Education.  Later, Ruth retired with over 30 years of service working for the State of New Jersey, including Ancora and the Vineland Developmental Center as a Cottage Training Technician.  Ruth was an adventurous woman and very active in the community, she was always ready to go out, whether it be shopping, volunteering or visiting her friends and family.  Ruth loved to share time with her grandchildren and was known to all as Abuela or Mom.

She was predeceased by her husband Emiliano Franco in 1973 and by her longtime companion Benjamin Garcia-Miranda in 2014, and also by her sister Aurea E. Santos-Leon and brother Daniel Santos.

Ruth will be remembered and sadly missed by her 4 loving children; Orlando Franco, Myrta Carder, both of Vineland, Ruth Evelyn Rabelo of FL. and Nancy Franco of Vineland.  She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, her sisters; Aida Santos of CT, Carmin Santos of OH and Noemi Santos of FL., along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The viewing will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 1st from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland, with a service to begin at 7:00 pm.  Interment will be private.
