IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra L.
Ciancarelli
April 28, 1942 – February 10, 2021
Sandra "Sandy" Lee Ciancarelli (Toogood)
On February 10, 2021 Sandy passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in Vineland, NJ surrounded in love by her family. Sandy was born April 28,1942 in Darby, PA to the late Charles and Loretta (Aiello) Toogood.
Sandy graduated from Sharon Hill High School, class of 1960. She moved to Vineland, NJ in 1969 to raise her family and remained there throughout the rest of her life.
Her love of music and singing started at the early age of five when she first performed on stage. It quickly became a huge part of her daily life (even the family dog would partake in her home performances). She was a member and worked as a secretary at the Vineland Church of Christ for many years. Sandy's passion for theater and music led to her being highly active in several community theaters, including Vineland's The Little Theatre. She was also a member of the Singing Ambassadors. Along with her creative outlet for singing, Sandy mastered cake decorating and she could accomplish any theme or shape of cake requested. She was also a member of the Gourmet Club. She enjoyed starting almost every day by swimming laps at the local YMCA.
Her fondest love was for her four children, after raising her children, she went back to school to pursue a degree in accounting as numbers and organization came easy to her. She worked as a Director of Human Resources, accounts payable and receivable, applying those skills to the fullest. In her retirement, she took pleasure in painting and drawing, and attending many theater performances. Sandy also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed. Those who knew her will remember her signature auburn hair as well as her kind and loving nature.
A cherished mother, she leaves behind four children: Charles A. Simpson, Michael S. Simpson (Craig Bavaro), Donald A. (Jennifer) Ciancarelli, and Stacie L. Ciancarelli (Dan Kellmer). Grandchildren include Erika, Caren Ann, Charles, and Joseph Simpson, Gianna and Laura Ciancarelli. She is also survived by her nieces Lisa Lee (Peifer) Tomlin, Abby (Peifer) Burke, and Casey Peifer. She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah Marie (Toogood) Peifer.
A small family celebration of life will be privately held at a later date. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's memory may be made to: The Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Website: act.alz.org/donate.
