Sofia (Hoyos) DeJesus , 84, of Vineland went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at home. Born and raised in Adjuntas, PR, she lived in New York for 44 years and later moved to Vineland, NJ in 2004. Sofia was a homemaker and a member of the Vineland Spanish Assembly of God Church under the covering of Rev. Tomas Acevedo. Sofia is the second of seven children, being survived by two sisters, Lydia and Jaunita and two brothers, Efrain and Jose. She married Luis DeJesus in 1944 with which she had 11 children. She widowed in 1968 and is survived by children Carlos, Rosa, Zulma, Jose, Luis, Perfidia and William. Gone to be with the Lord before her were her children Samuel, Iris Judith, Angel and Maria Luisa (Magui). The Lord blessed Sofia with 31 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and 1 great- great- great grandchild. The viewing will be held, Friday, from 7:00-9:00pm and Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 am at the Vineland Spanish Assembly of God, 512 S. Third Street (corner Quince Street). Services will be on Friday at 7:00pm and Saturday at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
