Theodore "Ted" S. Krause, age 103, of Vineland, passed away in his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Thursday February 19, 2015. He was born on August 3, 1911 in Philadelphia to the late David and Mary (Weinstein) Krause. Ted was the middle son of five children, four boys and one girl, all who predeceased him. Ted attended the National Agricultural College and became a farmer on Garden Road. He married Miriam Toplin, a raven haired beauty, whom he met at a wedding in Philadelphia. They had two daughters, Judith and Linda. During Ted's work on the farm he realized his earnings were insufficient to send his daughters to college and thus became an employee of the AXA-Equitable team. After many years of study and sales, Ted earned his CLU and was a valued salesman. In 2011 he was named AXA's top salesman of the year and awarded the highest honor and given his award at a special ceremony in Nassau. In 1934, Ted became involved in Jewish studies and remained faithful in this course to his dying day. He served on the board of directors of Beth Israel Synagogue numerous times, additionally he served on many committees at the YMCA of Vineland. Ted helped found the Seabrook House and was also an integral part of the success of the Hendricks House. Ted lost his wife Miriam to cancer in 1969 and after one year of mourning he met and dated Sarah Blom. After three dates he knew he loved her and asked her to marry him. The rest is history. They had 40 glorious years of married life dedicated to each other's happiness which was shared with their combined families. Sarah sadly passed away in 2012 at the age of 101. Ted believed deeply in giving. He gave to over one hundred charities. He also believed that exercises was integral to a healthy life and swam daily at the YMCA until very recently when his failing health no longer allowed this activity. Theodore S. Krause is survived by his two loving daughters; Judith and her husband Ron Macon of Vineland and Linda Krause and her husband Doug Blank of New York City. Two special additions after marrying Sarah, sons Jerome Blom and his wife Linda of Vineland and their two children, Scott Blom and Dawn Blom and her husband Tony Forsberg and Dr. David Blom and his wife Penny of Avalon and their two children, Aaron and his wife Jennifer Blom and daughter Mackenzie, Michael and his wife Sabrina Blom and children Aiden and Chloe. Ted's two grandchildren; Eric Macon and his wife Cheryl and their children Kara Rehm and her husband Brian, Ashley Macon and her husband Hank, Joseph Trembly and David Macon and great-great-granddaughter Charlotte Rehm and Jordan Macon and his wife Fereshta Azimi. Ted was predeceased by his step daughter Roberta "Bobbi" Blom. He is survived by her two children, Lori and her husband David Wright and their daughter Jessica Ambrose and Sally and her husband Richard Goode and their two children Harris and Andrew. Also his special caregivers Halina Pierkal and Leah Witt. Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 22, 2015 at 12:00 pm at the Beth Israel Synagogue, 1015 East Park Ave. Vineland, (enter on New Pear St.) with Rabbi Alfredo Winter officiating. Burial will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 - 12:00 at the Synagogue.
