It is with sadness that we share the passing of Theresa (Guadagno) Winslow, 93, of Bridgewater, NJ, and formerly of Vineland, NJ, on September 17, 2026, after a brief illness. Born at home in 1933 in Bound Brook, NJ, to Vito and Jaconda (Pivirotto) Guadagno, she was a first generation Italian-American. The family moved to Vineland when she was a teenager where her father worked in the egg industry and later opened The Spot Pizzeria on Landis Avenue. Theresa graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1951 and from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1955, where she also earned a Master’s in Library Science in 1970.

Theresa was a lifelong lover of the arts, literature, classical music, and travel. A competitive duplicate bridge player, she traveled extensively to bridge tournaments throughout North America and Mexico, achieving a Life Master certificate from the American Contract Bridge League in 2008. She also enjoyed trips to many European destinations, including Scandinavia and Russia. Embracing the history of South Jersey, Theresa was a past Trustee and Life Member of the Vineland Historical Society.

Theresa was appointed Assistant Director of the Millville Public Library in 1968 where she was instrumental in establishing the New Jersey Collections Room. As Community Relations librarian at the Vineland Public Library beginning in 1976, she incorporated arts and culture into library programming, winning six consecutive grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Theresa was active in the New Jersey Library Association and Northeast Regional Library Cooperative throughout her career and served as the first president of the South Jersey Librarians in 1974-75.

After relocating to Somerset County in 1984, she joined the Somerset County Library system as Head of Technical Services and Coordinator of Automation until her retirement in 1998. She was responsible for automating the acquisition and checkout systems countywide and maintained computer fluency throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed Zooming weekly with her family beginning in the pandemic and afterwards.

Theresa is survived by her daughters, Jessica Winslow (Stephen Smaha) of Denver and Naomi Ingraldi (Dennis) of Vineland, her sister Marguerite Koons (Ronald) of West Palm Beach, grandchildren Rebecca Smaha, Nicholas Johnson (Lindsey Lawless), Zachary Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Anthony and Angela Ingraldi and their “babies”, Anthony and Vinnie, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and Francesca Hudnut Leddy (David) of Lexington, KY. Theresa was predeceased by her husbands John Russell Winslow and Richard Hudnut, sons John Russell, Jr., and David, daughters Amy and Angela, and her brother Michael Guadagno.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Laurel Circle Assisted Living, Livelong Well Care, and Life Hospice for their excellent care.

Graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to the Vineland Historical Society, PO BOX 35, Vineland NJ.
