Vera Spacil

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear mother, Vera Spacil of Vineland, NJ. She passed away peacefully at home on September 23rd, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Loštice, Czech Republic on January 22, 1927, to Jan and Ludmila Dolezel, Vera lived a remarkably adventurous and full life. She spent her teenage years with her family in Guatemala, Central America, before returning to the Czech Republic in 1946. In 1968, she immigrated to the United States alongside her husband and three children to begin a new chapter.

Vera had a brilliant mind for languages, working professionally as a translator and typist fluent in Czech, Spanish, and English languages. After retiring in Hobe Sound, FL, in 1990, she relocated to Vineland. There, she remained active and vibrant, working alongside her daughter Dagmar at her beloved Al’s Floral Shop and continuing to travel back and forth to the Czech Republic for many years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Otto Spacil in 1983; her sister, Olga Gargulak; and her son-in-law, Charles C. Fischer.

Vera is lovingly survived by her daughter Dagmar Fischer of Vineland, sons Milan Spacil with wife Dorothy Spacil of Inman, SC and Peter Spacil with wife Cyndy Spacil of Fayetteville, GA. Grand children Michael Spacil, Jennifer Page, Sean Spacil, Brian Fischer, Kevin Fischer, Steven Fischer, Dana Boutwell and Abbey Spacil. Great-grand children Melissa Page, Elizabeth Page, Aeden Page, Gavin Page, Elliott Spacil, Caleb Spacil, Jacob Spacil, Lucas Spacil, Jackson Fischer, Megan Fischer, Lorwin Fischer, Tommy Boutwell, and Harrison Boutwell. 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Bayada Rehab and Hospice for their kind and compassionate care during Vera's final days.
