Walter J. McHugh, age 68 of Millville, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Inspira Medical Center, Vineland.

Walter was born in Bridgeton to Mr. James W. and Meriam (Parvin) McHugh and resided in Millville for most of his life.  Walter served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  Prior to his retirement, Walter worked as a machinist with Maul Brothers of Millville for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming and sharing time with his family and friend.

Walter was predeceased by his wife Deborah (Dilks) McHugh in 1990 and by his daughter Kimberly McHugh in 1985.

Walter is survived by his 2 daughters; Jennifer McHugh and husband Todd and Julie McHugh, all of Millville.  His mother, Meriam McHugh of Dividing Creek and by his 2 grandchildren; Mercedes DeMore and Xachery Plummer.  He is also survived by his 2 brothers; John McHugh and wife Lillian of Vineland and Richard McHugh of Dividing Creek, and by 2 sisters; Ida Madden of Millville and Laura Bradford and husband Robert of Kissimmee, FL.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 13 ^th at 11:00 am at the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, 1024 E. Landis Ave. Vineland.  Family and friends may gather from 10:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service.  Interment will be private.
